Logitech Harmony One Remote Control
A Remote Control for the Couch Potatoes
I have always wanted a simple, funky yet useful
remote control for all our electronic devices at home. I am so done with having multiple remotes that has
complicated buttons.
My wish was granted when I heard about the
Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote with Color Touchscreen Logitech
Harmony One Universal remote control. It’s an awesome electronic gadget for taking over our entire home
theater system. Here’s an outline of the best features of the remote as well as a couple of drawbacks.
The remote is ergonomically designed, very attractive and looks really funky. The touch sensitive buttons have
unique shapes and are backlit so you can use it comfortably while watching your favorite movie in dim lights. Its
body is also designed with a contour that makes it easy for me to grip the remote in one hand and access the
buttons with my fingertips. I said goodbye to bulky or fragile remote controls.
The Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote sports a remarkably pretty, glossy, full color touch screen. The LCD
screen is bright enough and surprisingly responsive to touch. Good thing that there is an option to adjust the
sensitivity of the screen; otherwise it will activate whatever feature with every fidget I make. With just one
simple touch,
I can watch the TV series I am following, listen to my favorite radio station or play a new music CD or DVD
movie I just bought. You can also put your own photos and set it as the background of the screen.
Its batteries are rechargeable, helping me save a few dollars for not having to buy new batteries to replace it.
It comes with a charging dock or station where I can place the remote control when no one is using it. This dock
prevents my whole family and I from turning our whole living room upside down when looking for the silly remote
control!
It’s easy to configure even for people (like me) who are not techies. You don’t need to be an expert to program
up to 15 electronic devices. Even if you struggle while setting it up, Logitech has online software guides as well
as an excellent live support team that are readily available to extend their help.
I just noticed a couple of drawbacks from the Logitech Harmony One. First, the remote control itself is a dirt
and fingerprint magnet! I think it’s because of the glossy finish, which makes me leave evidence that I had chips
or popcorn while watching a TV show or DVD movie. It’s not a major drawback for me but some people are fuzzy about
shiny objects may find this inconvenient.
Finally, you don’t get these jam-packed features for nothing! This
Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote with Color Touchscreen is relatively pricier than other universal remote
controls in the market. It’s all worth it anyway, considering that it greatly simplifies our elaborate home theater
system.
