The Amazon Kindle 3G+WiFi

I have loved reading books since I was a little kid. Whenever my mom buys me a new one, I would be very excited to sniff the book (yes, I like the smell of new books) and hold the neat pages and cover in my hands.

That’s why I always had this apprehension to buy an electronic book reader despite all the persuasions that I get from family and friends.

When I received an Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally - Latest Generation as a birthday present last month, I can’t help but use it and explore what the gadget has to offer. I found myself falling in love with it and I definitely recommend to my fellow book lovers for the following reasons.

It has a high contrast screen that uses what they call electronic ink or e-ink. The page really looks like real paper, which is a pleasure for me who had a difficult time adjusting from reading a paperback to using an e-book reader.

Amazon is indeed living up to what they are claiming, can read books or documents easily and without glare, even in extremely bright sunlight. The text size is adjustable too as well as the fonts for my ultimate reading comfort. These features are really useful for me since I love going on holidays, bringing a good book with me to read on the beach or at a nearby park.

The Kindle 3G’s battery life is really impressive! Without the wireless features on, I heard that its battery could last up to 30 days on a single charge. I know that reading a novel on a paperback won’t make me worry about charging anything at all but even the Kindle’s week-long battery life with its WiFi or 3G on is good enough for me. At least I wouldn’t have to carry a thousand paperbacks or newspapers in my bag, or an extra iPad just to surf the web.

Speaking of surfing the web, this Kindle’s wireless connectivity is one thing I definitely couldn’t get out of a paperback! This e-book reader has a built-in 3G that I can use for FREE, thanks to Amazon! Now I don’t have to get charged when surfing the Internet to buy the latest bestsellers: I pay for the books, and not for surfing. The Amazon Kindle 3G also has a built-in WiFi that allows me to surf using its web browser.

I also like that I can transfer mp3 music files from my computer to this gadget using its USB cable. It is convenient enough to play some good music in the background while I read. I tried reading Twilight while playing the movie soundtrack; it totally set the mood and enhanced my reading experience. Plus, I get to flush out the noise in the background!

Now I wonder why I was so hesitant to buy an e-book reader when I would be getting all the convenience and pleasure with the Kindle 3G Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6" Display, Graphite, 3G Works Globally - Latest Generation!
